Here's wonderful mid-century, post WWII living room designed by Hazel Dell Brown and published in a c. 1946 Armstrong linoleum brochure. Then as now, "Too many families shy away from modern decoration because they think it's bare, and cold, and hard to live with."
Of particular interest is the floor, which is done by cutting several different colors of linoleum (four striated colors) into what Brown calls an "icicle" pattern.
