Color is something that both attracts us and frustrates us, especially when it comes to choosing a color for the house. It's been than way for generations.

The English-influenced Arts & Crafts style house (okay, the shutters are a little goofy) shown below is from one of the many ads by Sherwin-Williams from 1910–1920. We think you'll agree that it is a handsome example and would be easily replicated. From roof to trim:
