In keeping with the Colonial Revival affinity for the symmetrical façade, this plan has the expected balance and simplicity that was calculated to appeal to a potential buyer. It has a closed plan; the basic layout is essentially a Foursquare, but the second floor affords less head room by virtue of the cross-gabled roof. The awkward placement of the stairs begs for redesign. One distinctive feature is the closed cornice return. They are unusual, but not uncommon.
