1916 Ideal Homes in Garden Communities

1916 Garden City Plans - Design 22

"The wide-eaved, flat-roofed plaster house has proved its popularity in this country beyond any question. Treated in the simple manner here shown and with plain refined mouldings, this house is almost ideal for a satisfactory metal lath and plaster construction. The window grouping is unusual and combined with the inviting porch indicates a cool, pleasant home. Tinted to an ivory tint its combination with trees and flowers is excellent. Large hall, rooms and closets arranged for maximum use and convenience invite your interest. Each bed room is a veritable sleeping porch."

This Prairie style house is one of the variety of styles Davis incorporated into his portfolio of designs for the Garden City Company of California project. The cost to build was between $4000 and $5000.
