The Branford

1940 Pre-WWII Homes by Gordon Van Tine Co.

The small homes of the Depression years were smaller, more compact, with a lot of functionality compressed into a limited footprint. This plan, larger than the average, is about a 1200 square feet which is a good size for a small family—easy to maintain and heat, modern by the definition of the time, and with its Colonial details modestly attractive.
