The Detroit is very similar in appearance to theChaffee with the prominent chimney, half-round hood and door. The floor plan is different in that a shed dormer allows better light and ventilation in the second floor bedrooms, and locations of various rooms are switched. Given a choice, we would probably choose the Detroit but both plans were designed to be sensible, modern, and affordable. The Chaffee was shown in the 1929 catalog and the Detroit was dropped.
