The Elon
1929 Home Builders Catalog
The Elon borrows from the Arts & Crafts and Shingle styles of the late 19th century to create a simple eclectic house that is unusual for the late 1920s. The prominent chimney, forward gable with the gentle curve over the entry, and steep roof pitch give it a vaguely European feel. Three bedrooms and one bath make it a standard plan. An interesting feature is the small library alcove near the front door.
