Described as a French Colonial in the 1930 Montgomery Wards catalog of kit homes, it's easy to see the steep roof with the clipped gables and semicircular hood over the entry as having a Continental flavor. It would be as easy to describe it as a modified Cape Cod. It has a relatively open floor plan and is unusual in the placement of the stairs to the second floor, which are located in the center of the house next to the kitchen.
