The Homeville
1923 Sears Roebuck Modern Homes
A small cottage-style home with traditional design elements and lots of light would have appealed to a great many home buyers with an average budget. Even though the Homeville was small, it wasn't lacking in charm. The French front door and casement windows, balanced by the placement of the fireplace at the front of the house are reminiscent of the English Cottage style houses, but the Colonial Revival elements make this a decidedly eclectic plan. Though nominally a three bedroom home, we expect the front bedroom was more usable as a den or office.
