The Parkside

1936 Sears Roebuck Modern Homes

The tidy little Parkside kit was offered by Sears from about 1934 to the closure of Sears home division in 1940. This is a two-bedroom, one bath plan that has a lot of curbside presence for a house of just under 800 sq. ft. The Parkside is an eclectic style showing characteristics of the Minimal Traditional and English Cottage. The diamond-paned windows and wrought iron-strapped half-round door provide a little extra visual delight.
