This small two-bedroom cottage is a good example of the many small homes designed during the 1920s. The gable ends are clipped and give it a distinctive appearance. Other names for this particular roof include jerkinhead, hip-on-gable, snubbed gable, and in one instance, we've even heard it described as a "spanked gable"!
