Here is Victor Voorhee's first catalog house plan. It's essentially a box style, similar to the Foursquare, with an eclectic combination of stylistic details. There are two belt courses on the lower box depicting two different colors or types of siding, a wide porch with sturdy square columns and deftly handled details such as the porch brackets on the columns and distinctively milled barge boards. The roof is symmetrically cross-gabled and its wider eaves attest to an Arts & Crafts influence. Some might perceive a whisper of the Queen Anne Free Classic and we wouldn't argue.
