The exterior dimensions on this bungalow plan are 24' x 36' for about 1200 total square feet. The exterior is typical of the small, single-story low-pitched roof bungalows of the period. This early plan reflects a number of layout flaws and certainly shows Voorhees' inexperience as a designer, most notably the center bedroom or chamber. With the roof shielding the back porch, not only would there have been little light, there would also have been no cross-ventilation ... a hallmark of a well-planned bungalow design. The roof planes and artistic lines are pleasing and this plan was most likely improved in later versions. For more Voorhees' bungalows, we've published many more at Bungalow Home Style.
