With a simple square floor plan the Lincoln, though charming, would also have been quite inexpensive to build. A breakfast room with a built-in buffet provided informal dining space and acted as a butler's pantry should the owners have desired more formal dining space in the living room. Two bedrooms plus a bed closet could have functioned efficiently for guests.
