We are smitten with the small, but interesting, Hillsboro plan shown in the 1936 Sears Modern Homes catalog; it was in every sense a modern home. The steeply pitched roof, mixed brick and stone chimney, and leaded windows over a window seat in the livingroom contributed to its considerable charm. Going further though, an attached garage opens directly to the kitchen and a half-bath on the main floor add convenience. Two good- sized bedrooms (including one with an attached "studio") and full bath upstairs provide ample space for a small family.
